You Are So, So Good
You are so, so good—not just a little, not just sometimes,
But all the time, through every season, through all the rhymes
Of joy and sorrow, triumph and the tear-filled night.
Your goodness is the constant, the everlasting light.
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. (Psalm 34:8)
So good—when the sun is high and blessings overflow.
So good—when the path is steep and I don't know which way to go.
Not good because of what You give, but good because of who You are—
The Shepherd, the Healer, the Bright and Morning Star.
You are so, so good—Your mercy never ends.
Your faithfulness surrounds me, my defender and my friend.
When I look back, I see the trail of goodness on my road—
A thousand graces carried me, a thousand mercies showed.
For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100:5)
So I will sing it from the rooftops, whisper in the quiet,
Declare it in the battle, rest in it through the riot.
You are so, so good—not because I understand,
But because You hold my life secure within Your hand.
Amen.
