Holy Ghost fire covers me.

 Holy Ghost Fire, Cover Me

A Reflection on Acts 2:3-4 and Isaiah 4:5

Holy Ghost fire, cover me—not to burn, but to shield,

Not to consume, but as a banner, a holy, heavenly field.

Let the flames of Your presence be a wall around my soul,

A covering of power that makes the broken whole.

For over all the glory there will be a canopy. (Isaiah 4:5, ESV)

Cover me in the morning, when the day is fresh and new.

Let Your fire go before me, making every pathway true.

Cover me at noontide, when the battle presses hard,

Be the shield that guards my spirit, the seal of my reward.

Cover me at evening, when the shadows gather deep,

Let Your fire be my nightlight, my sentry while I sleep.

No enemy can enter where the Holy Ghost fire falls;

It is a wall of living flame around my inner walls.

They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. (Acts 2:3)

Holy Ghost fire, cover me—my mind, my heart, my home.

Let no unclean thing linger, let no darkness roam.

For Your fire is a purifier, yet a shelter and a shade,

The refuge where my weary soul is perfectly arrayed.

So I lift my hands to receive You—not as a distant force,

But as the living, breathing Fire that sets me on my course.

Cover me, O Holy Ghost, from crown to sole, within, without.

Let Your fire be my covering, of this there is no doubt.

Amen.
