The one who is to come.

Amen. "The One who is to come" is a declaration of hope and anticipation—the recognition that Jesus Christ is not only the One who came and the One who is with us now, but the One who will come again in glory. It is the confident expectation of every believer, the promise that anchors our souls, and the cry of the early church: "Come, Lord Jesus!"

📖 The Scriptural Foundation

"‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.’" (Revelation 1:8)

"He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus." (Revelation 22:20)

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first." (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

"Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all peoples on earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen." (Revelation 1:7)

"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ." (Philippians 3:20)

"So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him." (Hebrews 9:28)

👑 What It Means That He Is the One Who Is to Come

This Means... Because... A Scripture to Hold

He Will Return Jesus promised He would come again. "I am coming soon." (Revelation 22:20)

He Will Raise the Dead Those in Christ will rise first. "The dead in Christ will rise first." (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

He Will Judge the Living and the Dead He will bring justice and righteousness. "He has set a day when he will judge the world with justice." (Acts 17:31)

He Will Make All Things New He will restore creation and wipe away every tear. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes." (Revelation 21:4)

We Wait with Hope Our future is secure in Him. "We eagerly await a Savior from there." (Philippians 3:20)

🙏 A Prayer of Hope

Lord Jesus,

You are the One who was, and is, and is to come.

You came once as a humble baby.

You are with us now by Your Spirit.

And You will come again in glory.

We wait for You with hope.

We long for Your return.

We eagerly await the day when every eye will see You,

When every knee will bow,

And every tongue will confess that You are Lord.

Come, Lord Jesus.

Come and make all things new.

Come and wipe away every tear.

Come and establish Your kingdom forever.

“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

🕊️ A Declaration of Hope

I declare today:

Jesus is the One who is to come.

He will return in glory.

He will raise the dead.

He will judge the world in righteousness.

He will make all things new.

I wait for Him with hope.

I long for His appearing.

I live in expectation of His return.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

“Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him.” (Revelation 1:7)

💎 A Final Encouragement

The One who is to come is not a distant hope—He is a certain promise. Jesus Christ, who came to save, who lives to intercede, will come again to reign. He will return in glory, and every promise will be fulfilled. So live with expectation. Live with hope. Live with your eyes on the horizon, ready for His appearing. For the One who is to come will not delay.

“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)

The One who is to come—even so, come, Lord Jesus. 🙏✨💙
