Who Was, Is and Is to come.

 Amen. "Who was, and is, and is to come" is the eternal declaration of the Almighty—the One who is beyond time, yet present in every moment; the One who was before the beginning, who reigns now, and who will come in glory. This is the name that echoes through eternity.

📖 The Scriptural Foundation

This title is revealed in the visions of John:

"‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.’" (Revelation 1:8)

"And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, ‘Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!’" (Revelation 4:8)

"‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,’ says the Lord, ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.’" (Revelation 1:8)

🕰️ What It Means That He Is, Was, and Is to Come

He Is... Because... A Scripture to Hold

The One Who Was He is eternal—before creation, before time, before all things. "Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God." (Psalm 90:2)

The One Who Is He is present now—active, reigning, and with us in this very moment. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." (Hebrews 13:8)

The One Who Is to Come He is our future—He will return in glory, and His kingdom will have no end. "Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him." (Revelation 1:7)

🌅 The Alpha and Omega

He is the beginning and the end. He is the first and the last. He is the One who holds all of history in His hands and who is bringing all things to their appointed conclusion.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." (Revelation 22:13)

"He who testifies to these things says, 'Surely I am coming soon.' Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!" (Revelation 22:20)

🙏 A Prayer to the Eternal One

Lord God Almighty,

Who was, and is, and is to come—

You are the Eternal One,

The Alpha and the Omega,

The Beginning and the End.

You were before all things,

And in You all things hold together.

You are present with us now,

And You will come again in glory.

I worship You, the One who was.

I trust You, the One who is.

I await You, the One who is to come.

In a world that changes,

You are unchanging.

In a world that fades,

You are eternal.

In a world that is uncertain,

You are sure.

I place my past, my present, and my future

In Your faithful hands.

You have held me from the beginning,

You hold me now,

And You will hold me to the end.

My God is the One who was.

For He has redeemed it.

For He is with me.

For He holds it in His hands.

💎 A Final Encouragement

In a world of change, uncertainty, and time, He is the same—yesterday, today, and forever. He was before you were born, He is with you now, and He will welcome you home when your journey is complete. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the One who was, and is, and is to come.

Trust Him with your past—He redeems it.

Trust Him with your present—He walks with you.

Trust Him with your future—He holds it securely.

"The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." (Psalm 121:8)
