"Lord, help us finish well."
This is the prayer of those who have run far and long—and want to cross the finish line with their faith intact, their eyes fixed on Jesus, and their hearts full of gratitude.
The Scripture That Calls Us to Finish Well:
2 Timothy 4:7 (AMP) — "I have fought the good and worthy and noble fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith [firmly guarding the gospel against error]."
Hebrews 12:1-2 (AMP) — "Let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith."
Philippians 3:13-14 (AMP) — "Forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
1 Corinthians 9:24 (AMP) — "Run in such a way that you may win [the prize]."
A Prayer to Finish Well:
"Lord,
I have run this race by Your grace—
through valleys and mountaintops,
through victories and struggles.
Now I ask: let me finish well.
Let me not grow weary in doing good.
Let me not lose sight of the prize.
Let me not stumble in the final stretch.
Strengthen my faith when it wavers.
Renew my hope when it fades.
Deepen my love when it grows cold.
Keep my eyes fixed on Jesus—
the Author and Perfecter of my faith.
Help me to leave a legacy of faithfulness,
to finish strong, to finish full,
and to hear at the end:
'Well done, good and faithful servant.'
In Jesus' name,
Amen."
Declarations for the Final Stretch:
· "I will finish strong in the strength of the Lord."
· "I will not grow weary in doing good."
· "My eyes are fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of my faith."
· "The prize is worth the race."
· "I will cross the finish line with joy."
· "My life will be a testimony of His faithfulness."
· "I will finish my course with joy."
· "I have kept the faith—and I will keep it to the end."
· "Nothing shall separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus."
· "I will run my race well—for His glory."
A Blessing for Your Finish:
May the Lord strengthen you for every remaining step. May He renew your strength like the eagle's. May He keep your eyes fixed on Jesus until the very end. May you cross the finish line—not weary, but full of joy. And may you hear His voice say, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Finish well. He will strengthen you. He will sustain you. He will lead you home. Keep running—your finish line is in sight.
