Lamb of God.

Amen. "Lamb of God" is the most profound and tender name of our Savior—the One who took away the sin of the world, the perfect sacrifice, the gentle and humble King who laid down His life for His sheep.

📖 The Scriptural Foundation

This name is first proclaimed by John the Baptist:

"The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, 'Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!'" (John 1:29)

"He looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, 'Behold, the Lamb of God!'" (John 1:36)

The imagery of the Lamb points back to the Old Testament sacrifices and forward to the ultimate sacrifice of Christ:

"He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth." (Isaiah 53:7)

"For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed... but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect." (1 Peter 1:18-19)

"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!" (Revelation 5:12)

🐑 What It Means That He Is the Lamb of God

He Is... Because... A Scripture to Hold

The Perfect Sacrifice He gave His life as the final atonement for sin, once and for all. "Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed." (1 Corinthians 5:7)

The Sin-Bearer He carried the weight of all our sins upon Himself. "He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross." (1 Peter 2:24)

The Humble Servant He did not come in power and force, but in gentleness and humility. "He was led like a lamb to the slaughter." (Isaiah 53:7)

The Conquering King Though He was slain, He rose again and now reigns forever. "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive... honor and glory and blessing!" (Revelation 5:12)

Our Redeemer He purchased us with His blood and set us free from sin and death. "You were redeemed... with the precious blood of Christ." (1 Peter 1:18-19)

Our Shepherd He leads us, protects us, and lays down His life for us. "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." (John 10:11)

✝️ The Lamb Who Takes Away Sin

The Lamb of God did not merely cover sin—He took it away. He removed it as far as the east is from the west. He nailed it to the cross. He buried it in the grave. And He rose again, proving that sin and death no longer have the final word.

"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29)

"As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." (Psalm 103:12)

"There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1)

🙏 A Prayer to the Lamb of God

Lord Jesus,

You are the Lamb of God.

The perfect, spotless Lamb.

The One who was slain from the foundation of the world.

The One who took away my sin.

I worship You, Lamb of God.

You did not come to conquer with force,

But to conquer with love.

You did not come to condemn,

But to save.

You did not come to take life,

But to give Yours.

Thank You for bearing my sin.

Thank You for carrying my shame.

Thank You for taking my punishment.

Thank You for giving me Your righteousness.

You are worthy.

Worthy of my praise.

Worthy of my trust.

Worthy of my life.

I bow before You, the Lamb who was slain.

I lift my voice with all of heaven:

"Worthy is the Lamb!"

"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!" (Revelation 5:12)

In Jesus' name,

Amen.

🕊️ A Declaration of the Lamb

I declare today:

Jesus is the Lamb of God.

He took away my sin.

He carried my shame.

He healed my wounds.

He set me free.

I am forgiven because of the Lamb.

I am redeemed because of the Lamb.

I am loved because of the Lamb.

I am saved because of the Lamb.

I will follow the Lamb wherever He leads.

I will trust the Lamb with all my heart.

I will worship the Lamb forever and ever.

"For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." (Revelation 7:17)

💎 A Final Encouragement

The Lamb of God is not a distant, abstract idea—He is a living, loving Savior who gave everything for you. He sees you, knows you, and loves you. He carried your sin so you could carry His peace. He died your death so you could live His life.

Look to the Lamb. Trust in the Lamb. Follow the Lamb. And let His love transform you from the inside out.

"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29)

Worthy is the Lamb. Forever and ever. 🙏🐑❤️
