Bless My Life, Lord
A Prayer from Numbers 6:24-26, Psalm 121:7-8, and Psalm 23:6
Bless my life, O Lord—the whole of who I am,
My body, mind, and spirit, from the God who is the great I AM.
Not just the moments of triumph, not just the days of grace,
But the ordinary hours, the quiet, common place.
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)
Bless my life—in the morning when I rise,
Before the world's demands and cries.
Let Your peace be my first thought,
Let Your love be the battle fought.
Bless my life—in the noontide heat,
When my strength is small and my feet are weak.
Be my shade, be my rest,
Be the One who knows me best.
Bless my life—in the evening's calm,
Let me rest in the shelter of Your palm.
Let me sleep in peace, secure and still,
Knowing that You hold me still.
The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. (Psalm 121:7-8)
Bless my family, my friends, my home,
Bless the work of my hands wherever I roam.
Bless my health, bless my heart,
Bless my future, every part.
Bless my life—not for my own gain,
But that Your glory and love may remain.
Let me be a channel of Your grace,
Let me reflect Your holy face.
For You are the source of every good gift,
The One who lifts and shifts.
Bless my life, Lord—today and always,
Let me walk in Your light through all my days.
Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23:6)
Amen.
