Come into Our Life
A Prayer of Invitation to the Holy Spirit
Come into our life, Lord—not as a passing guest,
But as the indwelling, sovereign Lord, who gives us perfect rest.
Come into our minds and sweep away confusion, doubt, and fear.
Come into our hearts and make Your gentle dwelling here.
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth.” (John 14:16-17)
Come into our words—let them speak of grace, not harm.
Come into our hands—let them serve, protect, and warm.
Come into our silence, into our laughter, into our tears.
Come into our waiting, into our hopes, into our fears.
We are empty vessels, longing to be filled.
We are thirsty ground, waiting for the rain You've willed.
Breathe on us, O Breath of God, and stir the sleeping flame.
Let the Spirit of the living God now burn within our frame.
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies. (Romans 8:11)
We welcome You—not with a ritual, not with a creed,
But with the open hands of hearts that truly need
Your power, Your comfort, Your wisdom, and Your grace.
Come into our life—and take Your rightful place.
Come into our worship—let it not be stale or cold.
Come into our witness—make us fearless, make us bold.
Come into our families, into our homes, our work, our rest.
Let Your Spirit's presence settle, ever pure and ever blessed.
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.” (John 16:13)
Come, Holy Spirit, come. We yield our all to You.
Make us a dwelling place where heaven shines through.
Come into our life—today and every day.
Lead us, fill us, use us, Lord. We trust You. Come and stay.
I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes. (Ezekiel 36:27)
Amen.
