 **PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS & CLEANSING**  

*(A Humble Plea for Mercy with Scripture Promises)*

### **1. ACKNOWLEDGING SIN** *(Psalm 51:3-4, 1 John 1:9)*  

*"Lord Jesus, I confess my sins before You—  

The wrongs I’ve committed,  

The good I’ve neglected,  

The hidden thoughts and reckless words.  

Against You alone have I sinned (Psalm 51:4).  

I bring my guilt to the foot of the cross,  

Trusting Your blood speaks louder than my shame."*

### **2. REPENTANCE FROM INIQUITY** *(Isaiah 59:2, Acts 3:19)*  

*"Wash me from the *bent* toward sin (Psalm 51:5)—  

Not just my actions, but my warped desires.  

Where I’ve tolerated compromise,  

Give me holy hatred for evil.  

*‘Create in me a clean heart’* (Psalm 51:10)—  

Not just forgiveness, but *freedom* from sin’s grip!"*

### **3. CLAIMING CLEANSING** *(1 John 1:7, Hebrews 9:14)*  

*"By faith, I receive Your promise:  

*‘Though your sins are scarlet, they shall be white as snow’* (Isaiah 1:18).  

Purge me with hyssop (Psalm 51:7)—  

Not just covering my sin, but *erasing* its stain.  

Let the accuser find no record,  

For the Lamb’s blood has blotted it out!"*

### **4. RESTORATION & RENEWAL** *(Psalm 23:3, Joel 2:25)*  

*"Rebuild what my sin destroyed—  

Relationships, time, purpose.  

Restore to me *‘the joy of Your salvation’* (Psalm 51:12).  

Where I’ve squandered years,  

Redeem time as only You can (Joel 2:25)."*

### **5. ARMOR AGAINST FUTURE FALLS** *(Matthew 6:13, 1 Corinthians 10:13)*  

*"Guard me from temptation’s lure.  

When the enemy whispers, *‘God didn’t really forgive you…’*  

Remind me: *‘Who dares accuse God’s elect? It is God who justifies!’* (Romans 8:33).  

Clothe me in Your righteousness (Galatians 3:27)—  

A robe no sin can stain."*

### **6. THANKSGIVING FOR GRACE** *(Romans 5:20, Micah 7:19)*  

*"Thank You that where sin *abounded*, grace *super-abounded*!  

You hurl my iniquities *‘into the depths of the sea’* (Micah 7:19)—  

Not to resurface, but forgotten forever.  

I stand now *‘un-condemned’* (Romans 8:1),  

Not because I’m flawless,  

But because *Christ is enough*."*
