Amazing Grace: Love reborn.

 **"AMAZING GRACE: A LOVE REBORN"**

*(A Poetic Reimagining of John Newton's Hymn)*

---

### **1. THE FALL** *(Ephesians 2:1-3)*

*"I was a wretch—this much is true,**

Not halfway lost, but through and through.**

A slave to sin, a child of night,**

Blind to grace, deaf to light.**

Yet even there, in chains I chose,**

Your love pursued me—oh, the throes!**

Not waiting clean, not begging nice,**

You stormed my hell at bleeding price."*

---

### **2. THE TURNING** *(Acts 9:1-5)*

*"Then lightning struck (or was it grace?),**

My rebel heart could not outrun Your face.**

The hound of heaven pinned me down,**

Not with wrath, but mercy’s crown.**

‘Amazing!’—this, my gasping cry,**

As scales fell from my blinded eye.**

The judge became my advocate,**

The gallows-tree, my wedding gate."*

---

### **3. THE WALK** *(Psalm 23:3-4)*

*"Through many dangers, toils, and snares,**

You walked before me—still You bear**

This wayward lamb when I lose sight,**

And sing me home through darkest night.**

Your rod and staff, they comfort still,**

Not as weapons, but love’s good will.**

Each step a proof: though prone to stray,**

Your grace won’t let me crawl away."*

---

### **4. THE PROMISE** *(John 10:28-29)*

*"When flesh grows weak and shadows loom,**

When doubt would dress me for the tomb,**

I’ll cling to vows etched in Your side:**

‘No one can steal My bride.’**

Ten thousand years won’t dim this song,**

As heaven’s choir takes up the throng:**

‘Grace taught our hearts to fear—then kissed,**

And grace will lead us into bliss!’"*

---

### **5. THE ECHO** *(Revelation 5:9-10)*

*"Not just my tale—ten thousand more**

Will crash like waves on heaven’s shore.**

Each voice unique, yet one refrain:**

‘The Lamb who saved, He still shall reign!’**

No sweeter sound, no truer word,**

Than grace that finds (oh, miracle!)**

A soul like mine—once lost, now owned,**

Once wrecked, now robed and crowned!"*

---

**SCRIPTURAL ANCHORS:**

- *Luke 15:20-24* (Prodigal’s welcome)

- *2 Corinthians 5:17* (New creation)

- *1 Timothy 1:15-16* (Chief of sinners)

**MODERN REFRAIN OPTION:**

*"Grace that chased me through the night,**

Grace that turned my death to light,**

Grace that fits me for Your sky—**

Amazing grace—*now* and *always* mine!"*

This poem weaves Newton’s story with *every believer’s* redemption song—let’s make it your own! 🕊️✝️
