Restore my heart.

 Restore My Heart

A Reflection on Psalm 51:10, Ezekiel 36:26, and Jeremiah 24:7

Restore my heart, O Lord—the wellspring of my life,

The source of every thought, the seat of joy and strife.

Let it be pure, let it be true,

Let it beat in rhythm with You.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10)

Restore my heart—melt the cold, the stubborn stone,

Replace it with a heart of flesh, a heart that is Your own.

Let love flow freely, let anger cease,

Let Your peace be my inward release.

I have wandered, I have strayed,

I have built walls where love should stay.

But You, O Lord, are faithful still,

You bend to heal, You bend to fill.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26)

Restore the joy of my salvation,

The hope that springs from Your foundation.

Let gratitude replace complaint,

Let faith arise where doubt has faint.

Restore my heart—with kindness, with compassion, with grace,

With the courage to forgive, with the wisdom to embrace.

Let it be generous, let it be kind,

Let it be a reflection of Your heart and mind.

I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord. (Jeremiah 24:7)

Protect my heart from bitterness, from pride, from fear,

From the lies that whisper, "You are not welcome here."

Let Your love be its shield, Your truth be its guide,

And let my heart find its rest in Your side.

So I entrust my heart to You, the One who knows it best.

Heal its wounds, calm its fears, and give it perfect rest.

Restore my heart, O Lord—make it more like Yours,

For it is my heart that You forever adore.

Amen.
