You are treasure of my heart.

You Are the Treasure of My Heart

You are the treasure of my heart—the pearl of greatest price,

For whom I would sell everything, make any sacrifice.

Not out of duty or of fear, but out of love so deep,

That in Your presence, all my lesser loves fall fast asleep.

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. (Matthew 13:44)

All the gold and silver, all the riches of the earth,

Cannot compare to knowing You, to understanding worth

That has no measure, has no end, no limit and no lack—

You are the treasure of my heart, and nothing can give back

The way You've loved me, found me, held me, made me whole,

The way You've written Your own name upon my inmost soul.

You are the treasure of my heart when days are bright and fair,

And still the treasure when the weight of sorrow and despair

Presses down upon my chest and whispers, "You are alone."

But in the quiet, I remember: I am never on my own.

For You are with me, and in You, I have more than I could hold—

A treasure that will never rust, that never can grow old.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:21)

So let my heart be fixed on You, the treasure I have found.

Let no lesser love distract me, no fleeting pleasure ground

Itself within the soil where only You should grow.

You are the treasure of my heart—this one thing I do know:

I have searched and I have sought, and in You I have found rest.

You are the treasure that surpasses every earthly test.

And when my days on earth are done, and I finally see Your face,

I will know that all along, You were my hiding place.

You are the treasure of my heart.

My everything. My all.

My greatest love. My dearest friend.

My answer to every call.

Amen.
