You come that I may have life more abundantly.

This is the glorious promise of Jesus Himself—a declaration of His mission to bring us not just life, but life to the fullest measure. It speaks of a vibrant, purposeful, and overflowing existence found only in Him.

Here is a meditation on John 10:10.

---

That I May Have Life Abundantly

The thief, he comes to steal and kill,

To bind the heart, the mind to still.

He offers death in shiny guise,

And truth is murdered with his lies.

But You, O Christ, Your voice is clear,

You break the cycle of all fear.

You do not simply halt the strife,

You come to give abundant life.

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."(John 10:10)

Abundantly. It overflows,

A river that forever grows.

Not just a trickle, not mere breath,

But triumph over sin and death.

It is a life of depth and meaning,

Your grace and glory ever-cleaning.

It’s joy in sorrow, peace in pain,

A sun that shines through storm and rain.

It is the power to truly live,

To love,to create, to freely give.

It is the fruit of Spirit’s seed,

Supplying every deepest need.

This life is not a future prize,

It is for now,it is the "rise"

Of soul and spirit,here, today,

As I walk with You,the Life, the Way.

You are the Vine, and I the branch, I cling,

And from that union, life will spring.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."(John 15:5)

So I receive this life You give,

In You alone,I choose to live.

No longer bound,but fully free,

To be the one You made me be.

You came that I may have life abundantly.

This is Your promise.

This is my reality.

What is the Abundant Life?

The "abundant life" Jesus offers is not primarily about material wealth or a problem-free existence. It is a profound quality of life characterized by:

1. A Restored Relationship with God: Knowing God as Father and living in intimate communion with Him (John 17:3).

2. Inner Transformation: Experiencing the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

3. Purpose and Meaning: Discovering the good works God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).

4. Unshakable Peace and Joy: A deep-seated contentment that is not dependent on circumstances (Philippians 4:7, 12).

5. Victory and Freedom: Liberation from the power of sin, fear, and condemnation (Romans 8:1-2, 37).

A Prayer to Receive This Life:

"Lord Jesus, thank you for this incredible promise. You did not come just to save me from hell, but to bring me into a rich, satisfying, and abundant life.

Forgive me for settling for a shallow, mundane existence. I open my heart to receive the full, overflowing life You died to give me. Fill me with Your Spirit. Align my desires with Yours. Lead me into the purpose and joy that can only be found in You.

I receive Your abundant life today. Let it flow through me to a world that is desperate for what only You can give.

In Your mighty name, Amen."
