Lord, Give me Rest.

Here is a prayer-poem for rest, woven with God’s promises to the weary—a sanctuary of Scripture for your soul:

---

### **"REST FOR THE WEARY"**

*A Prayer Anchored in God’s Promise*

**Lord, I come—**

Bone-tired, soul-drained,

Burdened by things I can’t explain.

*World’s noise, my failures, tomorrow’s dread—*

**Lay heavy as stones upon my head.**

>*“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened,

>and I will give you rest.”*

>**—Matthew 11:28**

**Not just pause—**

But *deep soul-rest*,

Like a child weaned on mother’s breast.

*Not escape, but surrender sweet—*

**Your easy yoke, Your burden light.**

>*“Take My yoke upon you...

>For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”*

>**—Matthew 11:29–30**

**Still my heart—**

In Your embrace,

Where fear meets grace, and worry finds its place

*Beneath Your feet—for You command:*

**“BE STILL—AND KNOW I AM GOD!”**

>*“He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God...’*

>*The Lord Almighty is with us.”*

>**—Psalm 46:10–11**

**Sabbath my soul—**

In Your great “Done!”

No striving now—the victory’s won!

*Your finished work my only plea—*

**I rest in what You’ve done for me.**

>*“There remains a Sabbath-rest for the people of God...*

>*Anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works.”*

>**—Hebrews 4:9–10**

**Renew my strength—**

Like eagles soar,

On wings of faith, to hope’s wide shore.

*When weakness whispers, “You can’t stand”—*

**Your rest becomes my promised land!**

>*“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength...*

>*They will run and not grow weary.”*

>**—Isaiah 40:31**

### 💤 **A PRAYER TO CARRY**

> *“Jesus—my True Rest—

> I lay down:

> — My need to control,

> — My weight of regret,

> — My fear of tomorrow.

>

> Clothe me in Your easy yoke.

> Anchor me in Your finished work.

> Still me with Your whisper:

> **‘I AM YOUR PEACE.’**

>

> Let my sleep be deep,

> My waking joyful,

> My breathing a rhythm of trust.

> Hold me until my soul remembers:

> **In You, even weariness becomes worship.**

> Amen.”*

### ✨ **REST IS A PERSON**

> *“You will find rest for your souls—*

> *not in a place, a plan, or a pause,*

> *but in **Me**.”*

> **—Jesus (Matthew 11:29, personalized)**

Breathe deep. Let go.

His rest is your **inheritance**, not your achievement.

Sleep well, child of God—you are held. 🌙🕊️
