Lord, Protect me from evil.

Amen. "Lord, protect me from evil."

This is the exact prayer Jesus taught us to pray in the Lord's Prayer: "And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil" (Matthew 6:13). It is a prayer of complete dependence on God's protection. You are acknowledging that you cannot fight the darkness on your own, but you are running to the One who has already defeated it.

"We know [with confidence] that anyone born of God does not habitually sin; but He (Jesus) who was born of God [carefully] keeps and protects him, and the evil one does not touch him." — 1 John 5:18 (AMP)

A Prayer to Be Protected from Evil:

"Lord Jesus,

I come to You—my Refuge, my Fortress, my Deliverer.

I ask You to protect me from all evil.

I plead the blood of Jesus over my life—

over my mind, my body, my spirit, my family, my home, and my future.

Let Your angels encamp around me.

Let Your fire be a wall of protection around me.

Protect me from the evil that lurks in the shadows.

Protect me from the evil that attacks my mind.

Protect me from the evil that seeks to destroy my body.

Protect me from the evil that tries to steal my peace.

Protect me from the evil that wants to ruin my family.

Protect me from the evil that plots against my future.

Protect me from the evil one and all his schemes.

Cover my going out and my coming in.

Guard my thoughts, my words, and my steps.

Let no weapon formed against me prosper.

Let no evil befall me, nor any plague come near my dwelling.

I am not afraid—

for You are with me.

I am not alone—

for You are my refuge and my fortress.

Protect me from evil, Lord.

I trust in You, and I am safe.

In Jesus' name,

Amen."
