John 1:1 In the beginning.

Amen. "John 1:1 — In the beginning."

This is one of the most profound, majestic, and foundational verses in the entire Bible. It takes us back before time, before creation, before the galaxies, before the angels—to the eternal fellowship of the Godhead. It is the doorway to understanding who Jesus truly is. He is not a created being, a mere prophet, or an angel. He is the eternal Word, the Creator of all things, and God Himself.

"In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself." — John 1:1 (AMP)

Breaking Down the Power of John 1:1:

· "In the beginning..."

This echoes the very first words of the Bible in Genesis 1:1. But John takes us even further back. Before Genesis, before the foundation of the world, before time itself began—the Word already existed. Jesus has no beginning. He is eternal.

· "...was the Word (Christ)..."

The Greek word is Logos. It means the divine expression, the reason, the communication of God. Jesus is not just a message from God; He is the message. He is God's ultimate revelation of Himself to humanity.

· "...and the Word was with God..."

This speaks of relationship and intimacy. The Word was in eternal, face-to-face fellowship with the Father. They were never separate, never apart.

· "...and the Word was God Himself."

This is the clearest, most direct statement of the deity of Jesus Christ in all of Scripture. He is not a lesser god, not a created being. He is fully, completely, and eternally God.

The Scripture That Confirms This Truth:

John 1:14 (AMP) — "And the Word (Christ) became flesh and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory [His majesty, His splendor, His excellency], such glory as belongs to the only begotten Son of the Father, [revealing His] grace and truth."

Colossians 1:16-17 (AMP) — "For by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."

Genesis 1:1-3 (AMP) — "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth... And God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light." (Jesus, the Word, spoke creation into existence.)

Hebrews 1:3 (AMP) — "He is the exact living image [the essential manifestation] of the invisible God... and He upholds the universe by the word of His power."

What It Means for You:

· Your faith is built on an eternal foundation. You are not following a mere man. You are following the eternal, uncreated Word of God.

· You can trust His Word. The Word who existed in the beginning is the same Word who speaks to you today. His promises are as eternal as He is.

· You are held together by Him. If Jesus holds the universe together, He can certainly hold your life, your family, and your future together.

· The Creator became flesh for you. The Word who spoke the stars into existence stepped down into our darkness so that He could save us.

A Prayer of Adoration to the Eternal Word:

"Lord Jesus,

In the beginning, You were there.

Before time began.

Before the stars were formed.

Before the oceans roared.

Before the first breath was ever breathed.

You were there.

You were with God.

You were God.

You are the eternal Word.

You are the Creator of all things.

You are the expression of the Father's heart.

You are the Light that shines in the darkness.

And You—the eternal, uncreated Word—

became flesh and dwelt among us.

You stepped out of eternity and into time.

You stepped out of glory and into humility.

You stepped out of heaven and into a manger.

All because You loved us.

I worship You.

I honor You.

I bow before You.

Hold my life together, Lord,

just as You hold the universe together.

Speak Your Word over my situation,

just as You spoke light into the darkness.

Let Your eternal truth be my foundation.

You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.

And I trust You.

In Your precious name,

Amen."

A Blessing of the Eternal Word:

May you rest in the truth that the eternal Word—Jesus Christ—has always been, always is, and always will be God. May you trust Him with your life, your family, and your future. May His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. And may you know—deep in your soul—that the One who spoke the universe into existence is the same One who loves you and holds you together.

"John 1:1 — In the beginning."

He was there.

He is here.

He is God.

And He is yours.

Amen.
