Amen. "Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof."
These are the words of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount. They are not pessimistic; they are deeply liberating. Jesus is telling us that we do not have the grace today to carry tomorrow's burdens. God gives us grace for today—and only for today. When we worry about tomorrow, we are stepping outside of the grace God has supplied for this moment.
"So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." — Matthew 6:34 (AMP)

The Scripture That Frees You from Tomorrow:
Lamentations 3:22-23 (AMP) — "It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness."
Exodus 16:4 (AMP) — "Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day...'" (God gives daily bread, not weekly or monthly bread.)
Matthew 6:31-33 (AMP) — "Do not worry then, saying, 'What are we to eat?' or 'What are we to drink?' or 'What are we to wear?'... Your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But first and most importantly seek His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you also."
Psalm 23:1 (AMP) — "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want."

What This Means for You Today:
· You don't have tomorrow's grace today. God gives grace for the moment you are in. When tomorrow comes, the grace will be there too. But you cannot borrow it in advance.
· Worry is borrowing trouble. When you worry about tomorrow, you are carrying a burden God never intended for you to carry today.
· God's mercies are new every morning. He doesn't give you a lifetime supply of mercy all at once. He gives you exactly what you need for today—and He will do it again tomorrow.
· Focus on today. Today has enough of its own challenges. Your job is not to solve tomorrow's problems; your job is to trust God for today's.

A Prayer for Today:
"Father,
Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof.
Thank You for the reminder that I do not need to carry tomorrow's burdens today.
You give me grace for this moment.
You give me strength for this step.
You give me peace for this day.
I lay down my worry about tomorrow.
I lay down my fear about the future.
I lay down my anxiety about what is to come.
I will not borrow trouble from tomorrow.
I will not carry a weight You have not given me.
I will trust You for today—
for today's bread,
today's grace,
today's mercy,
today's strength.
And when tomorrow comes,
I know You will be there.
Your mercies will be new.
Your grace will be sufficient.
Your faithfulness will meet me again.
I live one day at a time,
trusting the God who holds all my days.
In Jesus' name,
Amen."
