The Tapestry of Jesus
From David’s root, a tender Sprout,
The Word whom heaven could not contain
Now wrapped in time, and clothed in drought,
To bear the weight of human pain.
The Word made flesh, and dwelt among
Our shadowed days, with grace and truth upon His tongue.
A star, a stable, shepherds’ fright,
The Maker in a cradle laid.
Herod’s rage and flight by night—
For this the ancient seers had prayed.
"Out of Egypt I called my Son,"
The long-awaited reign of God had now begun.
At Jordan’s flow, the heavens torn,
The Spirit’s dove,the Father’s voice:
"This is my Son, the Beloved One,
In Him my heart and soul rejoice."
The desert’s thirst,the tempter’s art,
A steadfast,perfect, undivided heart.
Along the shore, a simple call:
"Leave your nets and follow Me."
He spoke with love and power to all
The sick, the bound, the blind to free.
He took our infirmities, our grief,
And in His hands brought kind, believing relief.
Upon the mount, He taught the soul—
The poor, the meek, the pure in heart.
A new and revolutionary scroll
That pierced the spirit like a dart.
"You have heard it said," His voice would ring,
But deeper still, the law of love He came to bring.
The loaves were broke, the storm was stilled,
The leper touched,the dead awoke.
The very fount of life was spilled
Where broken,trusting hearts invoked.
"Who do you say that I am?" He pled,
As toward Jerusalem His steady feet were led.
The colt, the palms, the children’s cry,
The table shared, the bread and wine.
The anguish in Gethsemane’s sigh,
The traitor’s kiss,the dark design.
"Not my will, but Yours," He prayed alone,
Then drank the cup of wrath for sins not His own.
The scourge, the thorns, the wood, the nails,
The cry that shook the temple veil.
The lifted Lamb whose love prevails,
O’er death and hell to conquer, heal.
"It is finished!" rent the sky,
The perfect sacrifice, for us to justify.
But silent stone could not contain
The Sun of Righteousness,arisen.
He shattered death’s enduring chain
And flung wide wide the sinner’s prison.
"Go, tell my brothers," Mary heard,
The living, breathing, everlasting Word.
From manger cross to empty tomb,
One seamless life of“God-with-us.”
Through shadow,pain, and borrowed room,
His love relentless,glorious.
Jesus Christ, the same—yesterday, today,
The Life, the Truth, the Resurrection, and the Way.
