You are a friend of God.

 Amen. "He calls you friend."

This is one of the most staggering, intimate, and beautiful truths in all of Scripture. The God of the universe, the King of kings, the Creator of heaven and earth—He doesn't just call you a servant. He doesn't just call you a subject. He doesn't just call you a creation. He calls you friend.

"No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you." — John 15:15 (AMP)

---

The Scripture That Reveals This Friendship:

Exodus 33:11 (AMP) — "And the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend."

James 2:23 (AMP) — "And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, 'Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,' and he was called the friend of God."

Proverbs 18:24 (AMP) — "There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."

John 11:11 (AMP) — "He said to them, 'Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I go, so that I may awaken him.'"

What It Means That He Calls You Friend:

· It means intimacy. A servant obeys from a distance; a friend is invited into the Master's confidence.

· It means He shares His heart with you. He doesn't hide His plans from you—He reveals His Father's heart to you.

· It means He laid down His life for you. "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13).

· It means you have access. You can come boldly to His throne, not as a stranger, but as a beloved friend.

· It means He chooses you. You didn't earn it. You didn't apply for it. He looked at you and said, "You are My friend."

A Prayer of Friendship:

"Lord Jesus,

Thank You that You call me friend.

The Creator of the universe calls me friend.

The King of kings calls me friend.

The Lamb who was slain calls me friend.

The Lion of Judah calls me friend.

I don't deserve this honor.

I didn't earn this place.

But I receive it with a grateful heart.

Thank You for laying down Your life for me.

Thank You for sharing Your heart with me.

Thank You for inviting me into Your presence.

Thank You for sticking closer than a brother.

Teach me to be a good friend to You.

To listen when You speak.

To obey out of love, not fear.

To spend time in Your presence, not just in Your service.

To love You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.

I don't just want to know about You—

I want to know You.

I don't just want to serve You—

I want to walk with You.

I don't just want to be a servant in Your house—

I want to be a friend at Your table.

You call me friend.

And I will be Your friend—today, tomorrow, and forever.

In Jesus' name,

Amen."
