Your Soul Prosper
A Reflection on 3 John 1:2
Your soul prosper—not in silver or in gold,
But in the riches of His grace, a treasure to behold.
Not in the fleeting currency of this world's fading store,
But in the deep and quiet wealth that settles evermore.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3 John 1:2, NKJV)
When your soul prospers, you can lose your earthly goods
And still stand upright in the fellowship of His wounds.
You can walk through fire and not be burned,
Because your soul has learned the secret it has yearned.
A prosperous soul is not puffed up with pride,
But rooted deep in the love that will abide.
It bears the fruit of patience, kindness, peace,
And from its inner treasure, all its fears cease.
The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it. (Proverbs 10:22)
Let your soul prosper in the knowledge of His will,
In the quiet moments when the world is still.
In the study of His word, in the practice of His ways,
In the offering of thanksgiving, in the sacrifice of praise.
For if your soul is healthy, your body will find rest,
And every storm you face will only make you blessed.
Not that trouble disappears, but that you stand secure,
Knowing the One who holds your soul has made His promise sure.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. (Colossians 3:16)
So I pray for you today: may your soul deeply thrive.
May you know the love of Jesus and in His presence live.
May your prosperity be not measured by the world's acclaim,
But by the depth of your devotion and the speaking of His name.
Your soul prosper. Your health increase.
May the God of all grace fill you with His peace.
Amen.
